“The heaviest-feeling blade in the OMOI family, built for members with a strong arcing stroke who want a bit more mass behind the ball. Comes with the swap-weight kit so a fitter can dial in feel without changing the shape.”
Released March 17, 2022, the M.Craft OMOI ('heavy' in Japanese) line was Mizuno's response to golfers wanting the brand's signature soft forged feel in a heavier, more stable putter head. The 01 is the wider-bladed, higher toe-hang (60 degrees) model of the two-putter launch, forged and CNC milled from 1025 mild carbon steel — the same single-piece forging philosophy Mizuno uses in its MP/Pro iron lines — at 370 grams, roughly 20-30 grams heavier than a typical blade putter of the era, with a 3/4-offset slant-neck hosel and dual adjustable weight ports (stock 8g weights, with 3g and 13g options included) to fine-tune total mass and feel.
Well-reviewed at launch by Golf Monthly, MyGolfSpy, TGW and GolfWRX forum members as a standout combination of forged feel and heavyweight stability, but it competes in a crowded premium forged-putter field (Scotty Cameron, Bettinardi, PXG) without the kind of scarcity, tour-legend backstory or long secondary-market chase that defines a true cult classic.
Used M.Craft OMOI 01 putters commonly sell for roughly $150-$220 privately (2nd Swing/eBay listings cluster around $150-$200), a steep discount from the $350 MSRP typical of premium putters two-plus years post-launch once the initial-release premium fades.

Suited to better putters who like a traditional forged blade shape but want extra head mass for a smoother, more stable stroke tempo, and who specifically prefer strong toe hang (60 degrees) to match an arcing stroke. Reviewers noted some golfers found the added weight harder to control than a standard-weight blade; golfers with a straight-back-straight-through stroke or wanting maximum forgiveness should look at the narrower 02 (40-degree toe hang) or a mallet instead.
Launched alongside the M.Craft OMOI 02 as Mizuno's 2022 heavyweight-putter entry, competing with other forged premium blades like Bettinardi's Studio Stock and Scotty Cameron's Newport 2 in a market that had broadly shifted toward heavier putter heads (370g+) for stroke stability. It followed Mizuno's earlier standard-weight M.Craft putters as the brand's dedicated heavyweight sub-line.
The added 370g mass and heavier overall build genuinely help stability through impact and dampen twisting versus a standard-weight blade, but this is still a compact blade profile with a small face and limited perimeter weighting compared to a mallet — mis-hits toward the toe or heel still cost real distance and start-line accuracy. A 4 reflects 'more forgiving than a typical blade' rather than anything close to mallet-level forgiveness.
Calibrated across the whole catalog — a tour blade scores low here on purpose; it means control, not ease.
Reading is one thing — hitting is another. Book a bay and see the numbers for yourself before you buy anywhere.
