Cobra brought the Grandsport-35 to its first full retail family of 3D-printed putters in 2021, following the limited Supersport-35 experiment of late 2020. The oversized blade used an intricate printed nylon lattice to free mass for a steel frame, an aluminum cap and tungsten at the heel and toe. A plumber neck supplied full-shaft offset and 35 degrees of toe hang, while the SIK aluminum face stepped through four loft zones from 4 to 1 degrees. The result was an unusually stable blade with a distinct industrial look, and MyGolfSpy's testing later named it the best overall blade putter of 2022.
Its early mass-market use of additive manufacturing and a 2022 independent test win make it historically interesting, although ordinary production volume keeps it below true collector status.
Best for a player who wants a blade-like view with substantially more stability and who releases the face on a slight-to-moderate arc. The 35-degree toe hang is a poor match for someone who needs a strictly face-balanced head.
This model marks the moment 3D printing moved at Cobra from a limited metal-printed proof of concept to a scalable nylon component inside a normal retail line. It also captures the brief Cobra-SIK partnership around Descending Loft Technology.
The wide blade, light lattice and heel-toe tungsten push more mass to the perimeter than a conventional blade. It remains less self-correcting than a full mallet, but speed and face stability hold up well on modest misses.
