“Grain Flow Forged 1025E with Quad Cut grooves and blue-ion or white-satin finishes. Steel-dominant players' wedge; a soft-feel identity club.”
The MP-T5 arrived in 2015 as the compact, forged counterpart to the larger MP S5, Grain Flow Forged from 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel with CNC-milled Quad Cut grooves designed to maximize face surface area and spin. It came in 25 loft/bounce combinations across five sole grinds, developed with input from Luke Donald, giving it heel and toe grind options and a trailing edge made less sharp than earlier T-series wedges. Reviewers were consistently effusive about feel - 'absolutely brilliant' impact sensation was a common note - and the balanced, curved leading edge sits well at address for a wide range of eyes. It shares its release year and Donald design input with the S5, giving buyers a choice between a larger (S5) or compact (T5) forged tour wedge.
Excellent reviews at launch but no lasting cult distinction - it is the fourth entry in Mizuno's forged tour-wedge lineage and was itself succeeded within a couple of years. Praise centered on feel and craftsmanship, which is exactly what buyers expect from any Mizuno forged wedge; nothing here rises to a documented major-championship moment or an independent 'best of the year' superlative the way the T-11 earned.
Original retail was about $140 per wedge (the MP-T5 5610 model was listed at $129.99). Realistic 2026 private-party value for a single clean wedge is roughly $35-55, per current eBay listings for individual lofts, consistent with other 10-year-old Mizuno forged wedges.

Fits accurate, feel-focused players who want a wide choice of grinds to match specific turf and lie conditions - a fitter's wedge more than a beginner's wedge. A high-handicapper who needs help getting the ball airborne from thin or fat lies will do better with a wider-sole, higher-bounce game-improvement wedge.
Released in 2015 alongside the MP S5, both developed with Luke Donald's input, and competed with Titleist's Vokey SM6, Cleveland's RTX-3, and TaylorMade's Milled Grind wedges of the same period. Succeeded by later T-series and S-series updates on Mizuno's ongoing wedge refresh cycle.
A compact forged tour wedge with five sole grind options (including dedicated heel and toe grinds) that let a fitter match turf interaction to strike pattern - a real playability aid, but one aimed at skilled players refining their short game, not at rescuing poor contact. Off-center strikes still cost spin and distance the way any blade-profile wedge's do; the forgiveness here is fitting depth, not forgiveness at impact.
Calibrated across the whole catalog — a tour blade scores low here on purpose; it means control, not ease.
Reading is one thing — hitting is another. Book a bay and see the numbers for yourself before you buy anywhere.
