“A wide-body Studio Stock blade with a larger footprint and half-shaft offset for a mild arc stroke. Forgiving for a blade with the Roll Control milled face.”
The Studio Stock 8 is Bettinardi's high-toe, wide-body take on the classic blade, milled from a solid block of carbon steel and finished in the line's signature Mercury Gray with black-and-blue paint fill. Its shaping borrows directly from the sought-after JAM, a heel-and-toe weighted head that Bettinardi built its early reputation on, giving the SS8 a high toe that slopes down and thins out toward the heel rather than the more symmetrical look of a standard Anser. It runs full shaft offset with 45-degree toe hang, aimed at players with a moderate arc rather than a straight-back stroke, and carries Bettinardi's F.I.T. (Feel Impact Technology) face milling, which softens impact sound to more of a 'thud' than a sharper click. Todays Golfer's review called it a putter that 'feels more like a surgical instrument than a putter,' and Plugged In Golf rated it Bettinardi's 'best off the rack putter yet' at the time of its 2019 launch, praising the head shape enough to overlook the brand's traditionally plainer stock aesthetics.
It hasn't achieved the tour-storied status of Bettinardi's Queen B 6 or the vintage cachet of the original Studio Stock line from 2011, but it draws consistently strong independent reviews — Plugged In Golf's 'best off the rack putter yet from Bettinardi' verdict and Todays Golfer's 'truly extraordinary' rating — and active GolfWRX equipment-forum threads dedicated specifically to the SS8 show sustained buyer interest years after release, the profile of a model that quietly outperforms its reputation rather than one hyped from the start.
This is a wide-body blade, not a mallet, so its forgiveness comes from added perimeter mass in the JAM-derived shape rather than a large MOI-focused footprint; Bettinardi's own materials tout the wider body's 'extra MOI performance over traditional narrow blade alternatives,' but the reviewer for Todays Golfer still noted he 'could still feel small mishits,' confirming it forgives more than a true blade but far less than Bettinardi's own mallets like the Studio Stock 38 or BB45.
Used pricing runs roughly $200-$350 depending on condition and shaft as of 2026 — 2nd Swing has listed average-condition copies at $199.99 against an original $399.99 retail tag, while cleaner, more recent examples command closer to full stock-shop pricing given the model remains in active production.

Suits low-to-mid handicap players with a moderate arc and a preference for a compact, high-toe blade silhouette over a mallet; the 45-degree toe hang and full shaft offset reward a stroke with some natural rotation rather than a straight-back-straight-through motion.
Launched in 2019 alongside the redesigned Queen B series as part of Bettinardi's push to fold tour-validated technology into its off-the-rack lines, the SS8 competed directly against Scotty Cameron's Newport 2, Odyssey's White Hot Pro #7, and Ping's Anser lineage — all high-toe blade mainstays golfers use as the benchmark shape.
Calibrated across the whole catalog — a tour blade scores low here on purpose; it means control, not ease.
Reading is one thing — hitting is another. Book a bay and see the numbers for yourself before you buy anywhere.
