Wilson's original Dyna-Power (introduced 1956, evolving out of the 1950 Top Notch Dyna-Weighting forged blades) was built around a patented bore-through hosel that let Wilson drill weight out of the neck and hosel and redistribute it directly behind the hitting area — an early, genuinely influential application of the low-CG, toe-weighted principles that later became standard game-improvement design language. It is most famous, however, for a moment far beyond the golf course: on February 6, 1971, Apollo 14 astronaut Alan Shepard closed out his moonwalk by attaching a Dyna-Power 6-iron head to a collapsible lunar sample-scoop handle and hitting two golf balls on the surface of the Moon, in front of a global television audience.
Independently documented by the USGA (which holds the actual club, donated by Shepard, on permanent display at its Golf Museum), Golf Digest, Space.com and Wilson's own 2022/2023 marketing (which explicitly reissued the Dynapower name '70 years' after the original to trade on this legacy) — the Moon golf shot is one of the most widely recognized moments in golf history, independent of any collector-forum cult around the club itself as a playing iron.
Today, this is a collector's or golf-history piece rather than a practical gamer — of interest to vintage-club collectors, Wilson historians, or golf-history enthusiasts, not to any golfer seeking modern playability. A modern player, of any handicap, should not expect to game this set.
A 1950s forged blade with a compact head, thin topline and minimal perimeter weighting by any modern standard; its bore-through hosel redistributed weight toward the hitting area relative to earlier blades of its own era, but it offers nothing like a modern cavity's forgiveness — off-center strikes lose considerable distance and direction, consistent with blades of its period.
Calibrated across the whole catalog — a tour blade scores low here on purpose; it means control, not ease.
Rarely traded as playable golf clubs; when complete vintage sets or single irons surface on eBay/collector markets they typically sell in the $20-$75 per club (or low hundreds for a set) range as vintage/display pieces rather than functional gamers — value here is historical/nostalgic, not performance-driven.

Competed against period forged blades from MacGregor and Spalding in the mid-1950s; its bore-through hosel weighting concept was a forerunner of the perimeter-weighting revolution Ping's Eye 2 would popularize decades later. Wilson explicitly revived the Dynapower name for modern game-improvement irons in 2021 and Dynapower Forged in 2022, trading directly on this original's legacy.
