Tom Doak's half of Streamsong's 2012 opening pair, laid over the dunes and lakes of a reclaimed phosphate mine in the middle of nowhere, Florida. Doak famously first scouted the site by helicopter in 2009, landing beside what became the 7th green. By his standards it's an unusually fair course — a minimalist routing with real hole variety, long and short intermixed, that shares startling, un-Florida terrain with its sister Red (the two even cross paths mid-round). Consistently ranked among America's top public courses.

Doak fans, first-time Streamsong visitors who want the gentlest introduction, and anyone who wants links-style ground golf without a passport.

The plunging 1st sets the tone from a high sandhill, the mid-length 3rd and 4th are the strategic heart, and the par-3 7th — green pinched between a lake in front and huge dunes behind — is the most photographed hole on the course and where Doak's helicopter first touched down.

The friendliest of the three Streamsongs: generous fairways, fair green complexes, and few forced carries. Still big-boy golf with wind and sand, but a bogey golfer can have a great day.

Same hour-ish drive from Wesley Chapel as the other Streamsongs. If you're taking a buddy trip down US-98, Blue is the round to schedule first — it teaches you the property.
