Bandon Dunes' fifth course, opened June 2020. For two decades this bluff-top ground north of the resort was a semi-secret 13-green playground owned by Mike Keiser and Phil Friedmann; Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw finally shaped it into a proper 18. Its famous quirk: zero sand bunkers — the site is so windy the sand would simply blow away, so the defense is grass hollows, firm turf, and the wind itself. It claims more oceanfront than any of its siblings, with over a mile of coastline, nine greens set on the bluffs, and Pacific views from every hole.

Everyone on a Bandon pilgrimage — and specifically the higher handicapper who wants clifftop ocean drama without taking a beating.

The nine bluff-top greens are the show — holes that finish on the cliff edge above the Pacific with nothing but ocean behind the flag. With no bunkers anywhere, the drama comes entirely from wind, firm ground, and that mile-plus of coastline.

The friendliest of Bandon's big courses: no bunkers, generous width, modest length. The wind is the only bully, and even that is part of the fun.
