Jack Nicklaus's homage to Augusta National, built in his hometown outside Columbus with Desmond Muirhead and dedicated on Memorial Day 1974. Named for the Scottish links where Jack won his first Open, it was the first course designed from inception with spectators in mind — its mounds and amphitheatres became the template for tournament golf. The Memorial Tournament has been played here since 1976, and it is the only course to have hosted the Ryder Cup (1987 — Europe's first win on US soil), the Solheim Cup and the Presidents Cup.

PGA Tour fans who watch the Memorial every June, Nicklaus disciples, and strong iron players — Jack built it to reward exactly the high, precise approach he owned.

The par-3 12th is Jack's affectionate nod to Augusta's Golden Bell, a mid-iron over water to a shallow angled green; the short par-4 14th, with a creek hugging the tiny green, is one of the Tour's great risk-reward holes and a perennial Memorial swing point.

Immaculate but demanding: water in play on many holes, fast sloping greens, and Nicklaus's preference for precise iron play. Beginners would find it beautiful and bruising in equal measure.

In GSPro — a community recreation exists and gets real play in sim tour events. It's one of the best 'watch it Sunday, play it Monday' courses in our library: members can take on the 12th and 14th right after seeing the Memorial leaders do it. Greens are quick and sloped, so putt with care.

Very private — access is by member invitation, and for most golfers the realistic route is a Memorial Tournament ticket in June. No public tee times exist.
