On 755 wooded acres near Houston — the site of Blaketree National, an abandoned Coore/Crenshaw project that closed in 2005 — Beacon Land Development hired Woods and Beau Welling in 2014, and the course opened in 2015-16. Tiger's thesis: playability. There is no rough at all; fairways are enormous, the turf runs firm and fast, and the defense is angles and green contours, Augusta-like in its shaved-slope logic. A private club capped at 550 members.
