The resort opened 18 Dye holes in 1988 — Golf Digest's Best New Public Course that year — and expanded to 36 by 1990, splitting into the River and Meadow Valleys courses. Meadow Valleys got the broader, rolling glacial-valley ground. Its back nine formed half of the composite 'Original Championship Course' used for the 1998 U.S. Women's Open, where rookie Se Ri Pak's playoff win ignited the Korean golf boom.
