“The 2nd-gen Tour Cavity Back (Xander's gamer) with a raw unplated finish that patinas, stamped '10' instead of 'P'. A compact tour head; elite players only.”
The Apex TCB 24 is the second-generation Tour Cavity Back — the compact tour iron that Callaway's staff actually game, released to the public as a limited run. It uses a 1025 forged tour cavity-back body with a 17-4 'Tour Tuned' face for consistent spin and control, in a small, short-blade-length head built for shot-shaping over distance. Callaway offered a raw/oil, unplated finish that deliberately weathers and patinas over time for an industrial tour look, and the set is stamped with a '10' rather than a 'P' on the pitching wedge (a Callaway tour convention). The TCB platform is the one Xander Schauffele carried through his two-major 2024 season; the retail release was capped at just 1,000 sets in the US.
A genuine tour gamer with a documented grand-slam-winning pedigree and a deliberately scarce 1,000-set US release — real collector/enthusiast interest and a strong story. Notable rather than cult classic only because it is too new (2024) to have proven durable cult demand; the scarcity and Xander pedigree give it the strongest case to move toward cult over time.
The 1,000-set US cap plus tour pedigree props up private-party value relative to normal 2024 irons: clean sets in 2026 realistically trade roughly $900-$1,400, with the raw/oil limited version and clean examples at the top of that range and possibly above RRP. Condition is nuanced because the raw finish is meant to patina — even rust is 'correct,' so buyers judge grooves and dents, not surface color. Reconditioned-retail pricing runs higher; scarcity means it holds value better than most 2024 irons.

Elite ballstrikers only — scratch and better with a repeatable center strike who want workability, feedback and a compact tour look, and who are comfortable with weak-by-modern-standards tour lofts. The raw finish appeals to players who want a tour aesthetic and don't mind (or actively want) the patina. Anyone chasing distance or forgiveness should look elsewhere in the Apex line.
The 2nd-generation TCB in the 2024 Apex tour lineup, the tour-truest head above even the MB in pedigree. The TCB platform has won the career grand slam across five seasons: Xander Schauffele's two 2024 majors, plus Jon Rahm's 2021 US Open and 2023 Masters. It competes with the Titleist 620 CB/T100, TaylorMade P7 series and Mizuno Pro 241 in the tour-cavity class.
A tour cavity blade — a hair more forgiving than a pure muscle-back like the Apex MB thanks to a shallow cavity and perimeter weighting, but this is a small, compact tour head with a short blade length built for control, not rescue. Mis-hits are punished. A 4 sits it just above the MB (2) and just below the CB (5): the cavity helps, but the compact tour shape keeps the sweet spot small.
Calibrated across the whole catalog — a tour blade scores low here on purpose; it means control, not ease.
Reading is one thing — hitting is another. Book a bay and see the numbers for yourself before you buy anywhere.
