One of Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s final designs, Fox Hollow opened in 1994 in Trinity, on the Pasco/Pinellas line — the address is literally Robert Trent Jones Parkway. It's a 7,079-yard par 71 with the old master's fingerprints: rolling fairways, big white-sand bunkers, and water in play, now finished with Sea Dwarf seashore paspalum greens. Conditions have swung with ownership and Florida's seasons over the years — locals know it can play superb in winter and scruffy in a dry summer — but the bones are genuine RTJ.

Tampa-area golfers who want real RTJ architecture at daily-fee prices, and value hunters who time the seasonal rate swings.

The strength is cumulative rather than one postcard hole: RTJ's signature risk-reward water angles and huge flashed bunkers recur throughout, and the paspalum greens putt distinctly from most Tampa Bay bermuda surfaces — a texture worth experiencing locally.

Playable for beginners from forward tees — fairways roll but stay generous — though RTJ's bunkering and water crossings punish topped and sliced shots. Off-peak rates make it a low-pressure place to learn.

This is a true local for Clubhouse — Trinity is about 25-30 minutes west of Wesley Chapel via SR-54. It's one of the closest legit RTJ designs to our bays, so it makes a natural real-grass field trip: practice the sim rounds here, then go test it outdoors.

No GSPro recreation that we can find — Fox Hollow is one to play in real life, and it's close enough that you should. For a similar-feeling sim round, queue up Innisbrook's Copperhead: another classic Tampa Bay layout with rolling terrain and big bunkering, and it has solid GSPro versions.

Semi-private daily-fee — anyone can book online. Rates swing hard with Florida seasons: bargain summer twilight up to $130-plus in peak winter. Mornings book out fast December through March.
